| • 16 miles west of downtown Asheville • 17.6 to the Biltmore Estate • 6 miles to the Mt. Pisgah entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Mt. Pisgah is at Milepost 407.6, where you can hike to the summit. This is a favorite hiking and picnic spot. The hiking trail to the summit of this 5,000-foot peak may be a bit strenuous, but the reward is the incredible view. Picnic area is at Milepost 407.8. The only restaurant and gas station on this stretch of Parkway is Milepost 408.7). |
